Hello Editsuite.com friends,

Due to tons of abuse, we now require that you request user access by sending us your Login, Name, Email Address, Phone Number, and Profession by submitting that info HERE.  I'll review your request and try to get back to you within the week.  You can't imagine how many folk want to trash forums with bogas advertising.

Also, please help us gain enough Facebook "Likes" to have a custom Facebook URL!

Hi all, I would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that this forum is for specific discussion of Thomson DD Switchers. If you have general questions about equipment and what people use, please use our General Discussion forums for such questions. (See the main forums page for a listing of all our forums.)

The reason I am asking this is that it's hard for people to find the great feedback you all give on a certain manufacturer's equipment when it's buried in another manufacturer's forum. I think that you'll find this makes it easier for us all; you can find the info you need, and I don't have to move topics around. Ok, so I'm lazy, that's the reason. ;)

Thanks for your help and support of Editsuite.com!

-John

No, Mike, your are definitely right. Maybe we should let the users decide. . .nah, that never works (tongue definitely in cheek). . . maybe I'll ask the product marketing and/or engineering teams how they would like to separate the info. Or just post the questions as you see fit. I think it will work itself out. How's that for a cop out? -JH

Not to argue, but the Kayak IS a DD switcher, "KayakDD," isn't it? The HD version being an "expansion of the popular KayakDD? line installed in more than 1,000 facilities worldwide." I would argue that the Kayak thinks more like the philips bloodline than the legacy GVG bloodline. The side panel software is nearly identical to the DD35/XtenDD. Just a humble opinion.

Hi all, Yeah, I know it's confusing. Thomson / Grass Valley have supported us before they merged so we just kept the 2 forums. It's a moot point these days, I know. Let's say the Kayak should be discussed in the GVG Switchers forum. The Thomson DD forum should be for actual DD switchers. How's that sound? Thanks, John
Hi John, It's possible to discuss about all switchers thomson as Kayak? Thank you, Enric
Even thbough Kayak is a Thompson/Philips product with a Grass Valley sticker placed on the panel, my guess would be the Grass Valley forum since it is remarketed under that brand name.
