I have a few macro questions. Any help would be apreciated.

1. Can the macor attachments be saved anywhere.

2. Can you attach more than one macro to an emem at a time

3. Can a macro record menu keystrokes.

thanks

In answer to your questions: Macro attachments are saved in the User Prefs area. Macros are called up on a Keyframe by Keyframe basis, but only 1 trigger per keyframe. Macros actually affect the frame. If you perform menu functions while recording a macro, the info that is recorded is that part where the menu affects the frame. Thus, a macro can change something like key priority (a menu function), but it can't call up a menu. By the way, while recording a macro, you can call up a previously-recorded macro. The contents of the previously-recorded macro will be "dumped" in as part of the newly-recorded macro. This gets around the CPL limitation that won't allow one macro to call up another macro. Plus, once the contents of macro 2 are a part of macro 1, you can then get rid of macro 2 & free up a macro location.

Brad, on a DD-35 you can have a macro recall another macro. I WONDER why the software people dropped the ball with the Kalypso? They will probably say that the Kalypso software isn't compatible with the DD series. There was an engineer for a truck company who would frequently get novice TD's, so he had some pre-built macros, things like DVE effects 1-6, DSK's 1-3 on or off. You could build a "master" macro by using his prepacked macros.

A Macro cannot recall another Macro. But a Macro can recall an E-Mem (not sure which software version this becomes available), and an E-Mem can recall a Macro. So you can make a Macro run another Macro by using the E-Mem as an intermediate step. Also, a Macro can be triggered from a GPI IN so if you can make your Macro trigger a GPI IN (by looping a GPI OUT back as an input, for example), you can make a macro run another Macro by using GPI as an intermediate step. brad

thanks sorry for the confusion, I know a macro can be attached to almost any button. But can those attachment assignments be stored. example... if our early director had a macro that attached to PGM key cut 1 that recalled a source on aux bus. But our night director had a Macro that needed to be attached to the same button to do something different. Can each of these attachments be saved/recalled (like profiles). I did think of creating a macro to do this but haven't tried that yet. (NEVER MIND, I FIGURED THIS OUT. THEY ARE STORED UNDER USER PROFILES) I tried to create a macro to recall other macros but couldn't figure that out either. (i only had about an hour of switcher time before show prep)

Can a macro record menu keystrokes. thanks[/quote] !. Do you mean "can macros be attached to any button on the control panel"? As I look at the software it seems that almost every button can have a macro attached to it. I do not have a panel to compare physical buttons to what the Macro Attach menu gives you. 2. Not sure, never tried it. It appears the answer is NO, however, I have never tried to create a macro that just recalled other macros. We might be able to cheat the system that way. 3. Yes, I was able to create a macro to set all still store E-Mem prefs to SS A. I even had the fast Forward triggered by playing with the PBus Triggers.
