This is off topic, but does anybody have a generic slate for vtr's/feeds in a .jpg format? (i.e.-vt a, vt red....) I have a version from Fox but it's 16x9 anamorphic, and I'm looking for something in the standard def world.

Thanks

Jeremy

For slates, I use PowerPoint on my computer - most laptops have some sort of Video Output. I always have this output patched (either via a frame sync for regular NTSC or a scan converter for the RGB monitor output) into the switcher, as I use the computer as an extra frame store, and as a way to import files from the Internet to use as real-time video on the switcher.

True, but I might as well look good as I go down in flames....

I think even the paint program that comes with Windows will work well enough, as long as you don't expect your slate to go on the air or anything. And if that happens I think you have more to worry about than what your slate looks like.

Why not just make your own in Photoshop? Make a 720x486, 72dpi image. Customize to your liking and personality.
