Hi all. It has been years since I've done this, but I want to do a slab move with a dve keyed over video.

I am using a Kalypso with built in "transform" dve

I dont want to go the easy cube route.

I want two channels, one with the video image, and one which will make a side edge. Getting them to run as one is a pain. Global mode isn't working for this.

I've done it before but its been years since I've done it. Anyone?
Thanks in advance.

I believe the kalypso manual/tutorials has a great explaination of how to do this. This was the posting as per Bob Ennis on the old fourm: "The formula for building a slab on pretty much any DVE is this: whatever the negative crop value of one channel is, use that number as the Source Z Locate 3D value for the other channel. For example, turn on key 2 & put it in a TE. In the TE, make the left crop -.5 & the right crop +.5. Now, rotate it on the X plane by -.25. Leave it there. Now, turn on key 1 & put it in a TE, but don't crop it - this leaves it's crop defaults set at +4 & -4. Go to Key 2's TE & move it in Source, Locate 3D, Z space by channel 1's negative horizontal crop (this would be -4). Now move key 1's TE in Source, Locate 3D, Z space by channel 2's negative crop value (-.5). Turn on Easy Cube & Global for both channels. If you want the now slightly larger channel 1 to be back to normal size, reverse the number that you gave it & give that to Global (in this case Global Source Locate 3D Z becomes +.5). Insert this as a KF. Now you fly the whole thing around using Global & it should work OK." Once again thanks Bob
