John,
What is the clock that marks that "time stamp" an entry is made based on? I have seen post marked with a time, say TODAY, 5:04pm - yet that time has not happened yet. I am in the EST Zone. Just trying to figure out the conversion.

Ok, well, I just checked the Admin stuff and it seemed that the TZ setting in there was set for the lovely Pacific coast time. I forgot that this site, one of several that I work on, is indeed, on the East coast. SO, I would guess that it should all be OK now, but let me know. . .

I set my time zone to US Central, but my posts are showing up 3 hours "later" than when I actually posted them.

Hey Sean, Hmmm. . .I'll do my best to gray some stuff out for you. I want you to feel at home. :)

Scott, if you go into "Profile," "Essentials" you can choose what time zone is reflected. I found it while poking thru the menus awhile back. BTW, John, as a group of TDs I have to say that something is missing from your menu structure: greyed out options that are not yet active. Sean

It might be a case of the forum software assuming the system clock is set to a certain time zone (usually GMT), but it's actually a different time zone (such as local time).
