Is there a way to link more than one bus to a controlling bus?
I'd like to control two AUX bus from PP A.

Thanks,

JP

The simple solution, and probably the best!

What we did: ENG set-up->Outputs-> We assigned the two logical outputs to the same logical AUX, thanks to our EIC Allan White. The logical AUX was linked to PP A.

G'day Brad ;)
Set the M/E into Split mode
No double take, small mobile with no option. I'll give a try to your second solution, assign a macro to the sources I want to be different from PP; actually, sometimes it's a clean feed (easy), sometimes when I cut to ME 2 or 3, it is a camera or a CG ; the only problem is no set-up time, sit and shoot!

Currently you can only link one bus to one bus. A work-around is to create 35 Macros and attach to the sources on the PPA bus, so pressing a button will cause the macro to select sources on as many Aux Busses as you require. But this is button-based, not source-based, so you can't differentiate between a shifted and non-shifted source. A possible solution might be to work out what source substitution you want to do, and attach Macros to those buttons, and for all other buttons the Auxes have a PP Clean feed selected, so you get whatever source is selected on PP Bkgd-A. You would need to make sure that the sources which trigger substitutions are on buttons that you never Shift. If you don't need any substitutions, then a simple Clean Feed might suit your purposes. Set PPD to have no keys, select PPD on the Aux Busses, and you'll get the backgrounds clean. Another idea just occurred to me. You could use bus linking to link PP Bkgd-A to PP Util 1. Set the M/E into Split mode, but put all keyers in the Primary Partition so you don't lose any. Then select PP-B (or Shift-PP) on the Aux Busses. You Aux Busses will then have a copy of everything that's on the PPA row. The losses in doing this is are (off the top of my head) Video Inside Wipe Borders; Wipe Generated by a Graphic; Key Mask with Image; Matte Wash using Image; Mix Thru Video ... but you still have Util 2 if you need to do one of these things on the PP row. I'd be willing to give it a try. Let us all know how it goes. brad
