A new client has a Kalypso and an EVS XT in the building. If we wanted to use the XT like a Spotbox, what do I need to do, other then use a Lance TDC-100 or the Kalypso's machine control if it is there? Can a XT be used as a DDR?

Mike I believe that - if one has the correct software - an XT can be booted up as a SpotBox. Considering that an XT is more expensive than a SpotBox, I don't think it should be a problem to acquire SB software (it may already be on the machine). However, that said, it may transpire that EVS would like your client to pay them separately for the SB software - even though they would not be getting an extra machine per se. Unfair if true, considering the use of the XT and the SB at the same time on the same machine would not be possible. But then, who said life is fair? If you succeed with the above, I suggest the use of the TDC-100 as I have found OmniBus "machine control" to be cumbersome to program and inaccurate when used with mutichannel DDRs for keyed animations. Besides, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the TDC-100 is less expensive than the OmniBus (is it still called that?) cheers dave
