Hi there John, Just looking through your secrets and lies section, how about Characters in reel names?

Had a nightmare a year or so back, I spilt a tiny amount of coffee in the keyboard and the 2010 crashed. I took the keyboard apart, unsoldered the buttons cleaned it dried it, still crashed, but only when I hit certain keys which I narrowed down to SRC A, took it apart again spent ages cleaning every spec out of it, put it back together and still crashed.

Then the screen hit me like a hammer, there was a [ (next to the P key) accidentally typed into the reel number when I put my dump reel in. The coffee was coincedental. (they removed all the sharp implements from my suite after that.

Hi John No it was just that finding your secrets and lies section, I thoughI t that it might be worth putting it in there as a tip for others My solution was to edit the list with the change command, and then pre viewing an edit from the list letting the axial change the reel number for me.

Hi Roger, Bummer about the spilt beverage. If I get your question, you wanna know how to get rid of an odd character in the reel name? If it's crashing on loading that list, then you can easily edit that list in the Axial File Manager window or stick it on a floppy, pop it into a PC and edit it there to remove the character in question. The reel names are saved with the session, so if that session is being called up with the unfortunate reel name, then I don't think there's much you can do except start a new session. Of course you have done a session backup, to save your EDLs out in case you need them, right? Anyway, hope this helps, let me know.
