Hi all, I'm trying to help out a TD buddy of mine before his first NBA away feed - it's the Toronto Raptors show, he's pretty green as far as bigger shows go, and if anyone has any specifics on the elements involved (Fast Forward replay or DVEous? stuff like that) I can help prep him a little. I know there's several of you on this forum that have helped me in the past, both in person and through e-mail, so this is an opportunity for me to give a little back.

SCORE will be broadcasting the game in Canada. I appreciate any info! Thanks!

Eric

Rich, I'm sure it would be easier for this guy's first show if the director used to be the TD :-) (and the home show pretended to be the away show to save money) (and the show was cut on a 1680...) In Seattle this weekend. Wonder what happened to Adelle...

I don't recall which network we were on, but I don't think it makes a difference in this show. Looks liike your buddy got an easy (easier) one for his first. No telestrator, No Fast-Forward, No replay bug. Director (Paul) has Dveous moves...replay (one move, pauses in middle), font fly, flare, line-ups (chyron spin ch 1 to 2), and two double boxes. Show uses DVD loop as part of replay and BG for double box effects (no different to TD than using a still). Replay (only) triggers digicart sound. It's a Duet show, with most "keyables"come from Duet. I don't recall if there were any other "keyables"... I don't think so (eg: evs promos, tape opens), but not something that would stand out for most of us, so I just don't remember. One thing...warn your buddy...Gord (producer) and Paul (director) will probably NOT be there at crew call. Maybe an hour or so later. Do NOT panic. Pre-pro, if any, is very light, and this will not be a problem. (Tape AD, Forbes, and font AD, Dan, will be there from the start) OK, that last thought about the director not being ther at crew call not being a problem...true for most of us... but we're dealing with a first show.....so, my apologies for the bandwith usage....but, for the sake of your buddy...everything I remember that MAY help ease the pain of not knowing... Cameras...1-tight follow, 2-game (play by play), 3-slash, 4-left HH, 6-right HH. ...show 5 for us was center HH from home show, 7 was home slash. Tape...red, blue, gold (evs1), silver (evs2). We had an ENG shooter, RF mic for sideline reporter, hallway drop (for toronto coach post game), and needed home coach post game (it is prefered to get this camera direct from the home show, if they do the press conference...for us, it was easy...center HH shot post.) All I can think of that would help a new guy for this show...please feel free to ask ANY other questions... I'll answer as best as I remember. Rich
