Hi all:

I'm doing the NESN/Bruins show twice this weekend in different cities. Anyone know anything about the show so that I can get a jump on things?

Hi Lou... as a director myself and having directed NHL hockey myself I can't say I'm a big fan of the one....take school. As a TD, being aware of it before hand (thanks for the warning), I find I react better to knowing the "take" word comes after the number. I find if the director goes ready 1 and then doesn't use the shot I flinch on his next word and sometimes get burned. With my director's hat on, screw 'em, they better get their **** together and go when I damn well say go. (Just kidding - I'm pretty low key as a director!) Mike... both shows are SD. I'm on a Kalypso Saturday and a 3k on Sunday. I haven't a lot of time on the FF but I did get all the info in advance from the director and TP so it does look pretty straight forward. Here's hoping I don't run into the same CPL issues I did on the first show I did with a FF a couple of weeks ago. John Phillips

Lou, you are being kind. John, are you doing a 4x3 or 16x9 show? I heard that NESN planned on doing all NHL in HD this year, not sure if they have had issues finding trucks in every market.

If it's the usual director be ready for a different way of calling cameras. "Ready one, one, one, one, One Take" At first that really threw me off, and annoyed me. Other than that, the DVE and Fast Forward elements are pretty straight forward. -Lou
