#1 - Is there a function in the Kalypso to completely disable control of a certain key during a timeline? Example... a telestrator? I know that you can do a source hold and if it needs to be taken out I'd select black instead of the tele. However, I'd like to disable it from timelines so that if the key is off or on the emem will not change its state. Basically, I'd like to have one key act as an external key that isn't affected by emems.

#2 - I recently worked on one in at studio that was recently installed. The GPI in functions to control transitions and such don't seem to work. Is that a software issue? a hardware issue? or... is it possible they simply didn't purchase that option?

#3 - The new function of double punching a crosspoint to get to the shift side seems to be great. However, it only seems to work on the DSK (or ME4) portion of the switcher. How do I enable it on all levels of the switcher?

Thanks all!

Hi J.J., Here's what I can tell you, from memory: 1. No, there's nothing like this yet. The function we're all waiting for is "partial keyframes" - where an emem level's (in your case, P/P) single timeline is broken up in to timelines for all component parts - keyers, wipes, backgrounds, etc. 2. Were the GPI in ports connected to the GPI outs of the switcher? GPI outs controlling GPI ins requires a physical wiring connection between the two ports. Since you are using a version of software that supports buss dpops, you should also be able to attach macros to timelines. This may be a better workaround for you, instead of using GPI re-entrys. 3. Go to Daily Setups --> User Prefs --> Bus DPOP Prefs. Here is where you can turn on or off double-punching a buss to get to the shift side. Happy switching! -Steve
