I have a TD who is having troubles with external devices not triggering.

He is cuing a clips on an external video servers via e-mem... there is a fill and key signal. When he takes the clip to air on a split key the fill is rolling and the key stays parked. Both are on auto roll. The problem seems to intermittent except it seems to happen consistanly with this particular combination of clips (ie. the key will roll properly when paired with another fill).

We have deleted the e-mem registry and re-built it and the same problem occurs.

Of course, when we try and re-create the problem while not in a newscast...I works like a charm.

Anyone had any problems like this, or have any suggestions.

Thanks,
Eric

I have found that when rolling multiple machines, the commands out of the switcher are not always deterministic. Thus, your key & fill can often get out-of-sync. One solution to this is to LINK the key server to the fill server. That way, you only control the fill machine & whatever you do, the key server will follow. The only caveat to this is that you should put ONLY the key signals on the 2nd server & it's time code should exactly match the fill sever, as whatever TC you give to the "master" server , the "linked" server will follow automatically.follow. LINK is in the External Devices / LINK sub-menu.
