Hello,

Was on a Zodiak yesterday...thanks you all for the help w/ info on the ZOdiak from my other post..

Here is my question. Was cutting on PGM/PST between 2 cameras...using the Cut button in the trans module. Cut to a camera...sources switched online...but when I looked at PGM/PST buses...they hadn't flip flopped. Then...what seemed like a few seconds later...they updated. It was like I had done an auto trans, and the buses didn't flip flop until the transition was complete. So...I thought either there was a glitch...or I hit the Auto trans by mistake. No one was yelling, and when I asked the director and another TD later on...neither one saw anything....So...I figured it was a glitch, or by chance no one noticed.

A few hrs later on another show, same setup and situation, it happened to me 2 other times.

After the show, thinking that the Zodiak control panel is connected to the chassis over a LAN..I thought it might be a network problem. Spoke to the EIC, and he confirmed that yes it was on a LAN..but it sounded like a dedicated LAN for the switcher and maybe the router...can't remember

My thought is that there was some sort of network issue that caused the control surface to be delayed in updating.

Anyone ever seen anything like this? Wasn't a big deal at all..Now I am just curious.

thank you

Curt

Thanks for the response...yes..it was a little strange. The kicker is, if I hit cut again..it would have cut right back I would guess. ! Now I know...but you are right..it was a little nervracking!! thanks again

Yes. This has been going on since the Kalypso came out. One of those things that never got fixed. Put it on your list next to the menu redraw problem, the lever arm freeze problem, etc. While the service people at Grass are great, the corporate mentality seems to ignore everybody with less than a multi million dollar contract. Even then it's like pulling teeth.

I've seen this happen on a kalypso, same thing hit cut transition happens then the buttons catch up. I've also seen it when calling up an emem on the entire board. It always seems to catch up it is just a bit nerveracking when it happens. I've always thought it to be traffic on the lan also.
