According to the web:
"STOCKHOLM, Sweden - Sweden's state broadcaster SVT on Monday faced ridicule for mistakenly showing a porn movie in the background of a news broadcast over the weekend.

Viewers of a 5-minute news update at midnight Saturday could see explicit scenes from a Czech porn movie on a TV screen behind news anchor Peter Dahlgren.

The monitor ? one of many on the wall of a control room visible behind the studio ? normally shows other news channels during broadcasts. But staffers who earlier in the evening had watched a sports event on cable channel Canal Plus ? which often shows X-rated films after midnight ? had forgotten to switch it back, said news director Per Yng.

?This is highly embarrassing and unfortunate,? Yng said. ?It must not happen again.?

A producer quickly spotted the sex scenes and ran into the control room and turned off the monitor, Yng said.

He said there had been no complaints from viewers about the mishap, but ?enormous interest from media.?

Swedish tabloids on Monday poked fun at the steamy broadcast, jokingly changing the name of the show ? Rapport ? to ?Rapporn.?

Magnus Akerlund, who oversees the hourly news updates, told tabloid Expressen he was ?shocked and dismayed? at the mistake.

?It?s a huge blunder by us,? he said."

or on a Mac (as I found out shortly after I posted) you can just type OPTION-3 to get the ?. Of course, just because we Mac users only have to type 1 number for all those crazy characters and you windows folks have to type 3 of them, in no way should that make you think that Macs have a superior user interface.

That's why I don't live in New York. To type the ? symbol hold down the ALT key and type "156" on your number pad. 156 is the ASCII number for ?. You can type any ASCII character by ALT+"number". Google "ASCII Table" to get the number for different characters.

Well, come on, a pint for 3 pounds (how the hell do you type that pound symbol??) doesn't mean it should be $3. Try finding a pint of Bass or Guiness in New York for less than $6.50. $5.66 seems more than fair.

No kidding, just got back from working 3 weeks over in the UK- love the exchange rate. You sit down for a decent meal that costs ?16 when it's really $30! Want that second pint for ?3? Well of course you do, just shell out another $5.66. If I ever get tired of being a TD I'm going to buy Hummers and Escalades and export them. Let's see, ?50,000 = $94,420... nice! I wonder how much TGV sells Kalypsos for over there....

I work at that network... Didn't switch the newscast in question though :-) Here, everyone think it's fun, we will not get sued by the Swedish FCC....

Sweden's nowhere near as militant as the US about "indecency". Maybe it's the lower concentration of religious fundies, who knows. The news director here is actually more concerned about the perceived professionalism of his newscast than the possiblity of a fine for broadcast indecency.
