Hi Everyone. I am using a MFS 2000 and have a few questions. First off - can you connect PBUS control to this little switcher? If so - is it an option? And if so - where are the menu's for PBUS control? For now I am using VTR control - BUT - it always cues up the "TC start point" 53 seconds later than I set. Wierd? I am connected to an Omega drive (no lance). If using VTR control how do I call up time code points in a timeline? And then how do I play them in he timeline? I have been all through the menu's and can't find anything relating to cueing timecode as part of a timeline. I have, however, been able to cue up and fire my timecode points as part of a macro. I built a macro that cues, and fires the DDR. Why does my macro run as far as the "play DDR" event and then wait for me to hit "take." I didn't put a zero pause - so why is it waitng? It works fine but is this the way it is supposed to work? One last thing - can I control the DDR in a timeline (like the 7000,8000) ? I can't find a VTR delegation anywhere. It's a great small switcher - but I have a ton of questions! Thanks...

I'm doing a 2 camera live uplinked shoot for an educational show about whales It's distributed to schools and PBS stations across the country. We have live talent, a bunch of roll-ins from tape, and I need to be able to chroma key the output of a scan converter over everything (the DSK). The producers of the show have developed Flash software that works a lot like a score bug with a ticker, except they use it to put in names of callers asking questions. It's actually a pretty slick interface. I'm seeing if they can develop it to use as a score bug for our network. Here's one we did in October From the Grand Tetons:
That's good to know, now I can exhale. That would have put a major hitch in the show... Thanks
Are you using transitions or something with chroma key? What kind of show are you doing, I don't really look at that switcher as a great live panel to work on, although it has macros, doesn't seem to be a board you can build stuff quickly on. Just curious
I've also got a question, but it doesn't look like we'll get any answers. I'm doing a show in February with the MFS2000 1.5 ME. The info I've found on the web says that all keyers have chroma, luma, linear key modes. Does that include the DSK? There are 2 keyers on the full ME, 2 on the DSK.
I tried this, all keyers do in fact have chroma keyers. Go to key type (double press the button that feeds the keyer near the top). Select chroma, then you can do the auto start and move the box over the color using the soft knobs, similar to the 8K.
