While I like to think of myself as quite proficient in Sony switchers. I've been trying to wrap my head around a software feature on the 7350 called "Auto Clean." It is in a later update in the software so it's not covered in the manual.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

(Maybe it's like a self-cleaning feature on an oven ;) )
Mike, get the feeling everyone's telling us we live in the stone age?
I think you're right. But its digital...it can't be THAT stone age. Grass 300...now that's stone age.
If I remember right, I think it allows you to automatically preview your next transition, depending on which ME you do it; for example, if you press BKGD or KEY1 or KEY2 on ME1, your preview monitor will show you your next transition for that ME.
I think you're referring to "Auto PVW" which if you press and hold your next transition button (ie mix, wipe, NAM) then it will show your next transition on your preview screen.
While I am certainly no expert on the older models - and maybe Rick E or someone else could corroborate ( or correct) this, as I recall, the Auto Clean allowed a second output that was always clean, regardless of M/E re-entries. Thus, if you had a few DSK's going & selected M/E 1 on line & it had a key on it, the Clean PGM output would show the M/E 1 clean feed with no DSK's.
Thinking that was it's function...I tried enabling it and monitoring the clean feed and it didn't seem to have any effect. Maybe we're missing something or it's not patched for it. Our DSK is setup cascaded though (PGM + DSK 1 - 4 ... DSK 4 highest priority, DSK 1 Lowest)
