Source Name Display won't stay shifted

I have ME-2 set to display the shifted sources full time. I also have the ME set to shifted mode. I'd like to not have to set the source name display to the upper/lower split, but the darn thing keeps changing back to unshifted display. I haven't noticed it actually switch, I'll just look up and I'm seeing cameras instead of tape machines.

I just got in the habit of toggling "shift" on M/E2 after every time I learned a macro. You'd think that bug would be fixed by now.

Of course learning a macro would make the source displays change on ME2- that should've been my first guess.... must have the GVG programmers stumped. To me, remapping that ME is a workaround, but not easier than simply hitting 2 buttons in the user pref. menu. I usually set my displays to show both sides but I wanted to have my replay ME display set to shifted only so I could read some of the machine names easier on the fly. I ended up just setting it to display both sides but kept the busses in "shifted" mode.

It'll go into that mode whenever you learn a macro. PS - I posted a question for you on my site.

Just curious, wouldn't it be easier to map a different set of xpoints for just ME2 and do it that way, rather than messing around with the shifted/unshifted setup?

no, none of the above. well, maybe the last one. software bug...? If I momentarily hit un-shift on the ME, it refreshes the display and properly reverts back to showing unshifted. Also, when the ME incorrectly displays unshifted sources, the colors don't change to unshifted colors so that rules out a faulty unshift button.

That's usually a User Preference setting. Some possibilities: * Loading a User Pref setup ; * Loading a Show ; * A Macro is doing it to you ... no way to edit/view, so hard to detect (short of running through each one and observing) ; * The "Unshift" button is sticky/faulty and is mechanically being held on ; * Someone has a PC on your Kalypso network running MenuApp and is messin' with you. * Poltergeist. brad
