4K PBUS / DVEous MX Register Glitch(?)

Hi,

This weekend I was on a truck where I was forced to control the DVEous MX from a 4K via PBUS (CPL in this truck wouldn't work, as the EIC warned me.)

I tried learning master e-mems with the desired DVEous register (example, e-mem register 01 recalls DVEous register 1.) This wouldn't take. E-mem 01 would ALWAYS recall DVEous 40. E-mem 05 would always recall DVEous 80.

No giant deal on this small show, as I just build the DVEous effects in the registers that the 4K would kick, but I'm wondering what was up here.

Normally, the DVEous should recall the register it had called up at the time of the e-mem learn, correct?

Thanks for any thoughts...

Chad
I thought I did all of that correctly, but maybe not. Which device stores the table for which DVEous register to recall when e-mem XX is recalled? The numbers don't have to match, right? Maybe I missed something and the 4K recall was kicking DVEous register data from the previous TD's setup?
Oh yeah, oops.. You need to go into config/ext device, periph device switcher menu and select the dpm level (or misc) that you want to trigger p-bus from. Also place to set baud rate and parity to match DVEous menu, usually 38500 and odd. figured if you were kicking something this was right.. So DPM 1 in that menu. enable DPM 1 and whatever else, then go into emem/perip device, turn on device 0 Call up dve effect, do a learn (you cannot do a learn mod like you can with CPL) If you have a timeline, save it, do the learn (which blows away timeline) and then load emem. I don't remember trigger list, I think 0 is run forward, if not then it is 1. CPL doesn't work great for looping dve effects, but otherwise I prefer it. I know a lot of TD's went to P-bus back when Kalypso first came out, the interface would lock up with the DVEous, or maybe it was the MX that was the problem, don't recall Bill

Also, what is the PBUS trigger number list for DVEous? I got lucky by guessing right on the "run forward" trigger. I couldn't find this list in the DVEous manual. You're probably gleaning that I had never run a DVEous under PBUS before this weekend. I must say I lucked my way through the experience. CPL seems much easier to me.

Chad
Did you have the periph device enable on when you did the learn, under emem/periph device? Turn on device 0 or 1 or whatever. The dveous in remote menu had pus selected with the same address? Otherwise that should be about it. Bill
