Hi All,

I'm spec'ing a show on a GVG-200. Might anyone be able to confirm that I think I'm okay on keyer use...

I think we're integrating a 2 channel Duet (2 video/key pairs), a 2 channel Fast Forward (1 video/key pair), and maybe a DVE (1 video/key pair).

This sounds like up to 4 linear-keyed devices. Am I remembering correctly that the 200 allows up to 4 linear-keyed devices? Is it sort of like the basic 300 where you could only have 6(?) linear key devices?

Thanks,
Chad

Chad, this may be too late a response, but I still have a 200 in our linear editing suite. There are a total of 6 external key inputs available. Any or all of them can be linear keys or luminance keys. Any primary input can also be used as a key source and there are 4 additional key inputs available to each keyer on each ME that are separate from the primary inputs. The DSK has 4 external inputs, the 2 MEs and one more fed from AUX-1. You are still limited to six total sources, but it looks like you only need four so you should be OK. Does that help?

Chad, The more my memory is jogged, or should I say, sloushed around. I tend to remember using key bus more than the 4 ext. keyer inputs as the 200 did a good job with the auto select/hole cutting assiging. Scott S.

Chad, If I remember... you are correct. Found a picture on the net, though a small picture - 4 bncs are at the external ins. I know there was an external mask in, not sure if you could wire that to cut in a key bus source. Seem to remember the DSK being able to use an ME as a source. Sorry for the fragmented info it's been a long while since my 200 days, hope it helps. Scott S.
