Hey Everyone,

I have a wierd one I wanted to get some feedback on. I am on a 4K using a TDC 100 for a 4 channel profile (VDR 200). I also am using some GPI loopbacks. The wierd occurance happened when I was trying to use a GPI loopback to fire a wipe in the middle of a timeline on ME3. I was using PBUS to recall the replay wipe on the Lance. I enabled PP, DSK, ME3, and DPM's for GPI and PBUS. I built a regular timeline for a fast forward wipe with the exception I was also adding ME3 with crosspoint holds. ME3 transition started on mix then switched to a diagonal wipe and then back to mix. I am working Golf and have run out of keyers. The wierdness is that I could not get the timing to work at all. When I was building my timeline it was never the same when I hit run. I would recall EMEM 1 and hit run - seeing that my timing was off immediately. I hit run again and this time the wipe was later. Recall again, this time sooner. Hit run again and the wipe was randomly later or even sooner. I found no pattern and had to move on with another solution. I hope I explained myself properly. Any input would be great!

We tried this years ago, and could never get it to work. If we had to use an effect with ME 3, we had to build a traditional timeline. You could do the same and have the timeline change between mix and wipe, as well as do the undercut. Only issue would be is if you never knew what the state of the keyers would be. key 1 on sometimes not others, this would be a problem. I assume this is not the case since ME 3 was part of the timeline anyway. Oh and build the timeline with source holds off to begin with and when it is working, add the source holds. There is another feature that will drive you crazy if you try and build a timeline with source holds on. hope that makes sense later Bill
