Wow, really? Can someone confirm that v6 is really not available for the 8000. I was under the impression that you could always load the newest version of software onto any frame, just that you wouldn't get all the newest features that are offered on the A or G. I've been waiting for v6 for a while, maybe that's why we haven't seen it on NMT HD10. --- Dan

Rick, Thank you as always. Looks like we are stuck at version 5.4 since the one room will be an 8000, and I would guess ( although you never know) they would want to keep both rooms on the same software rev. -Curt

I was told at NAB that the last version that will run on an MVS-8000 is 5.4x. You have to have a 8000A or 8000G to run version 6 or later. I also asked why the software was not on the web site. I was told that somewhere along the line, Sony changed a CPU somewhere in the life of the 8000A. Some customers need a small hardware change to properly run V6 or above. So to avoid someone just blindly loading V6 and having problems, they are not publicly posting it. They are contacting customers that need the CPU upgrade directly. That's all I know about the versions. I was also told at NAB that V7.00 will only run on an 8000G, but that 7.1 will be for both the 8000A and 8000G. As for features, I would do a search in this and the TD forum regarding features they saw demonstrated at NAB. Good luck RE
