Hello,

Is there a way to combine external DME's to one Crosspoint when they come back to the switcher. I know there is a combiner menu, but wasn't sure if that would help me. Not in front of the switcher every day ( yet) so I want to be able to play around w/ it next time I am .

Thanks again

Curt

On the Internal DME channels, I also use the DME MON VID - at the Keyer/DME assign module, you can assign whatever channel you want to the DME MON...If you combine DME's by assigning more than one channel to a keyer then these combined channels can be assigned to the DME MON. Then I assign the DME MON VID as a crosspoint with the DME MON KEY as the key input. This allows you to bring the combined channels back into the switcher anywhere you want. One way that I use this is to take an unused keyer on an M/E & assign multiple DME channels to that keyer, routing the extra feeds via the UTIL+Key 1, 2 & 3 buttons. Then I turn off the keyer (The DME's stay attached even when you turn off the keyer) & use the DME MON VID/KEY to bring the combiner back in elsewhere as if it were a traditional external DVE...it works great.

I assume when you mean "combine external DMEs" you mean SONY DME's? If so, then yes.... if you have the MVE-8000A or MVE-9000 configured as external then you just go to the DME GLOBAL menu, then select combiner and the menu is pretty self-explanatory from there. If you are trying to combine INTERNAL DMEs, then all you have to do is assign more than one channel to a single keyer. You go to the same menu to set either manual priority or turn on AUTO or DEPTH mode (depth is only available on MVE-9000) RE
