Hey Chupita, so you're in Jersey? Is this a Uni or Tele station? I know Uni Chicago got the overdrive, and Tele LA got it too... Might be some good resources for you...

Bill D., After reading your post , and consulting our maintenance guy here, we decided to forget the idea.. Our Dekos are hubbed to Texas & our connections might present more problems than we already have?? We will just hit the space bar & hope for the best, which adds to managements idea of us, as "just button pushers".. Coconuts on my head.. Soooooo we will try connecting our spenser and 360 to the Kalypso instead.. We are in the NYC area, but English is not our main language... Off topic question.. Looks like Ross Overdrive is coming our way? Went to Ross video and other sites to read up on it.. As always, management is seeking ways to get rid of as many of us as possible.. Replaced with producer types... Our thoughts are leaning toward the idea that they want to run as much automation as possible, with no manual control.. What's your thoughts on overdrive if you have the time.. Anyway thanks for all your help with our deko/kalypso problem!!
OOPS, should of been more specific... We wish to recall different items on any of the 4 channels at any time. I.E. Ots with a motion backround, lower thirds or full screens...no clips yet.. What is happening is that the company is passing the deko operator duties off to the t.d. Already done on some easy shows by t.d. hitting the space bar with the left hand, but items tend not to be in order soooooooo we are kind of running blind, plus we are kind of busy playing back & cueing 3 of the precis plus spensers bla bla bla, you know the deal.. On our main shows, going blind is not a good option in my humble opinion... Rather have more control with timelines etc. Grass said (& I have to call them to discuss) deko controlled by PBus.. Would be great to have an emem for each channel to run foward or back. I think we have 8 PBus and 15 triggers each, inside. Thanks for answering so quick.. You guys are great at editsuite..
Are you guys running any kind of automation on the deko? I think you may not be able to run both p-bus and automation, worth a try though. If you want to be able to just scroll through MOS or something, then you should be able to GPI your automation to do that. The Pbus is poorly documented on the deko. It is a leftover from when I think GVG owned Dubner which became deko I think. Anyway, hook it up to the serial port and see what you can do. I am sure you will get shoulder shrugs from Pinnacle on this. We were going to try this but decided we didn't have a need. We ended up with a GPI to play motions and such, to time them with other effects. In which case you only need one GPI. In theory each deko can only have one motion called up and paused at a time I think, so it will play out whatever is paused. If this is a deko 3000, things may be different not sure. But there seems to be really no way of IDing a channel for P-bus. Atleast not like the Thunder does it. Again make some calls, hook it up and see what happens. There is a menu to select P-bus under automation I think in the deko. It is windows based so you should be able to exhaust the menu options pretty quickly to try some things. What market are you in that they expect you to do deko as well? That really sucks. I can see if everything stayed in order then just advancing a list, but if they need stuff all over the place, ughgh. One other idea to advance lists is to use the tally. Once tally goes away the list advances. Hope this helps a little.

Do you want them to just play a motion or play out a clip? Or do you want to recall different items?
