Hello Editsuite.com friends,

Due to tons of abuse, we now require that you request user access by sending us your Login, Name, Email Address, Phone Number, and Profession by submitting that info HERE.  I'll review your request and try to get back to you within the week.  You can't imagine how many folk want to trash forums with bogas advertising.

Also, please help us gain enough Facebook "Likes" to have a custom Facebook URL!

It might be nice to add a forum for Ross Synergy/Vision and Overdrive. All the NBC O&Os are switching over to it and the system is popping up like wildfire all over the place. I think a lot of users would benefit if there was a forum section set up just for Ross.

Just my two cents.

Ken

I was told today by a person familiar with the news scene in DC that NBC bought a Ross for WRC, the O&O, in town. The switcher has yet to be installed because of contract language. Apparently Overdrive is the sticking point. From what I was told, the unit is in the building but sitting.

Hi Ken, Please let your Ross contacts know that you and others would like them to sponsor a forum here on Editsuite.com. I didn't get a chance to go see them at NAB, but we'd definitely love to have them as an official sponsor. Thanks, John

As of this date, only one or two are on-line and as I understand it, the other purchases have been put on hold. Don't believe everything you read in a company's (Ross) press release. :-)[/quote] Rick, i'm not getting my info from a ross press release, i'm witnessing the conversion first hand. there are at least 6 nbc/telemundo o&os running overdrive on air right now. i know of 4 more right around the corner, and it isn't stopping there. and once those are up and running they will move on to the next group. they are rolling the stations out in waves. check with your contacts in LA, Dallas, Chicago, Miami, San Jose, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C. so i still think it would be nice to have a synergy/vision/overdrive section of the message board. i know i could make some contributions once it is up and running. For anyone out there who is a Technical Director, this is a fast moving reality. I didn't think it would happen so fast, never thought it could handle our "fast paced" newscasts, etc. but here it is. i'm sure the TD's on this board could benefit from some info on the system, they'll run into one sooner rather than later.

Hi guys, Thanks for the suggestion. Our sponsored forums are just that: sponsored. Which means that we could use your help in contacting Ross and emphasizing the need to be a sponsor of Editsuite.com. We know they are lurking. . . . . ;)

i just came across this post, but I second it. I use a Ross at work everyday and still have questions. I know it pretty well, but there are a few others that pop up on here that know it as well and that also post questions that a small cluster of us have responded too. Id like to go as far as to even add a side link or something where someone who browses the site can say to themselves, "hmm, I have a question about Ross, who should I talk to" and of course they could post a topic and wait for a reply, but maybe even if members align themselves with pieces of equipment and someone clicks on it they can see all the members that are registered as "users/ pretty good users/ or whatever" for that equipment. example; Ive come across four of five people on here that are Ross users and we have traded info back and forth. If someone clicked on Ross somewhere on the site, they could see all six of our screennames and just contact us directly instead of posting and waiting for the reply. then maybe if i align myself up as a "Ross", when they click to post the topic, maybe the site can say something like "is there a group you want to direct this to" and they click Ross, then the Ross people get an email alert in their real email box telling them someone has posted a topic that is up our alley.
