We just installed the updated version to the DVS-9000. I was wondering if there were any user release notes available. I was trying to update operators on the newer software and I want to be sure not to miss anything.

Also when we first put the software in sideflags appeared on the xpt bus of PP and ME3 (not ME2 and ME1). Question 1 is why it didn't appear in ME2 and ME1. Question 2 is where do I find this in the menu if I did want the sideflag button available on a xpt (we run 4x3)

Thanks
Michelle

Last release notes that I remember were for 7.0 ... I'll look and see if I have those floating around (I just threw-out a hard copy). I looked with the installation package that delivered 7.11, and there isn't anything there except for installation instructions. As for Menu Macros, you can easily embed them in other macros, but be warned, they take about 15 frames to execute. Menu Macros work on the 9000, as the 7.11 upgrade only upgrades the panel and GUI, not the frame. Matt
Michelle ... did you upgrade to 7.11 (upgrading to 7.11 on a 9000 only upgrades the panel and GUI)? I don't remember seeing any release notes, but the changes weren't that evident to an operator. Depending on what version you had before, the biggest change might be the look and operation of the Frame Mem menu (if you were running anything prior to 7.0). Last I knew, Side Flags only works on the 8000A and 8000G, not the 9000 (although it may show up in the menu for you). The way it works, each source that you want Flags on has to be defined as 4:3 (along with enabling Side Flags) in order for Side Flags to show up. Don't forget, it is fed by "Utility 1" in each ME. Go to MISC->ENABLE->SIDE FLAGS. From there, you should be able to enable/disable Side Flags for each A/B bus of each ME. As for the one button punch to get side flags, from the same menu, just hit the button for "Side Flags Button Assign", and you'll see a Side Flags button show-up at the far right of your crosspoints. Hope that helps... Matt
Hi Matt, Yeah I was kind of wondering why side flags would show up on the 9000. The weird thing to us was that it showed up on the panel xpt bus (basically pushing over the shift button and taking away the crosspoint we assigned there), and it didn't show up on the whole switcher just PP and ME3. I'll look for that page tomorrow. It may be we can do 16x9 SD who knows. Sean, The 7.11 has nice menu features we just installed it today and played with it for 15 minutes before the Noon. The biggest being Menu Macros. 99 more! that allows you to macro menu items (still have to figure out how to attach those to regular macros (it'll come with playing I'm sure). If you have the dev controller you can now set FM clip in and outs with the controller. We were able to animate a frame clip without GPI's but with macros. Also the menu panel has forward and back arrows for the pages. Which is nice when you are working on something and can't remember the page. Happens to me all the time :) I was hoping for release notes from the operator perspective to make sure I wasn't missing anything.

does v.7 software on the 9000 support menu macros or is that just a 8000 thing?
