Kayak DPM and Master Emem questions...

Hi folks,
was on site today and ran into some issues with the Kayak's DPM and Master EMem.
Couldn't find the answer in my manual, and the phone-a-friend fell through, so I thought I'd ask here....

1. I'm building a clock key on M/E1. It will be saved to Emem 3.
I have to use the DPM to shape the clock.
Once I get the clock set via the DPM, what is the proper sequence to save that setting to DPM eff 03?
Also, do I have to save it to DPM eff 03 to correspond with the emem that will recall the DPM effect?

2. Like many TD's I use my master emems for my Lance/FF effects.
P/P is used for the transition from the cam on M/E2 to the deck on M/E1. Key 3 is turned on for the Clipstore key.
"01" is my "replay on" move, tied to Reg 001 on the Lance.
"02" is my "replay off" move, tied to Reg. 002 on the Lance.

In the setup for both these moves I have the P/P Key 1 assigned to Duet 1, Key2 to Duet 2, Key 3 to Clipstore, and Key 4 for whatever's left.
Today I needed to assign Key 4 to the tele-strator so I could go to replay and have the TS keyed over the deck the talent was going to draw over.
When I loaded my show, Key 4 was assigned to RAM1.
I went into the timeline from Master Emem 01 to change it from RAM1 to the TS, and then turn it on during the FF/Clipstore replay animation was full screen.
The problem is that I couldn't get the crosspoint change to save.
I tried editing keyframes, adding keyframes, using "modify", etc...without an luck.
So what's the proper sequence to modify something simple like that?

Any help is greatly appreciated.
For the clock, the DPM registers must be enabled. On ME1's register panel, light the DPM button, and that keypad should turn blue. Make sure the Bank button is highlighted. Then Store, reg #, Enter. Go into Emem mode (turns yellow) and under "Define" in the TiMemo menu, make sure the DPM recall number is green. Store the register. It should now recall that DPM when you hit that emem. The "Define" menu should be where the problem is on your replay, but I've had some problems getting source holds to work correctly on ME2. Basically anything lit green will be recalled, anything yellow should be source held. Hit Modify twice. Hope that helps!
I had the same problem! Sure makes you feel stupid... luckily Dale the EIC showed me the secret.
I think it's a mechanical problem with those 2 buttons. I'm sure you've noticed that it doesn't feel as solid as a Kalypso or Zodiak. It seems like they're using cheaper materials to keep the cost down, so guess who has to deal with it? Plus the crosspoint displays are useless...they need to be a little bigger.
yes, agreed...the Kalypso feels overbuilt compared to the kayak. Crosspoint display? Backlit white tape with a sharpie. :D

BTW - have you seen the tape labeled "Do Not Press" over "Red" on 18HDX yet? Nice touch eh?
You mean the button on ME2-B that either won't activate or release? That button boned me while taping the open a few weeks ago. Had to do a quick fix, and of course it screwed up my macros... Not to mention the second button on the Program bus that activates if you breath on it...now I leave it unassigned.
Yes. I got boned by it as well back in Nov. at a tourney in Chicago. At first it I thought it was something I did but after going through everything I told Todd that his Kayak had issues. I also noticed that the Kayak was operating in GV mode, not DD mode, and mentioned that to him as well. As of yesterday that M/E2-B is marked with tape. Todd said GV looked at it and didn't know why it was acting that way. I'm surprised they didn't just wipe the frame and reinstall.

I was hoping you'd respond since I know you are working on the same BTN trucks I am. I'll give that a shot. BTW - have you seen the tape labeled "Do Not Press" over "Red" on 18HDX yet? Nice touch eh?

Make sure the "VIEW" Menu is enabled on the upper part of the screen. For some odd reason (thanks Thompson) that enables you to make your "simple" modifications.
