EVS Looping in ver 7.11 - intermittent

Hello,

NMT HD-6's Sony 8000 was recently upgraded to ver 7.11 and I was modifying my effects to loop my backgrounds (finally!) and have been running into a problem of channel 1 of my spotbox looping intermittently. Usually it seems I can get one loop out of channel 1 before it just stops at the end of a clip. Channels 2 & 3 have been happily looping for the past hour (haven't experimented with ch. 4 yet).

I've tried changing the TC Sense in menu 7355.4 from both Zero Based to SOM based with no improvement.

Any ideas on how I might solve this?

A little update. Still haven't figured out what is causing my intermittent looping but I have narrowed down the symptoms. If I try to loop two channels of the EVS at the same time (eg. a fill & key channel) then one of them (not always the same one) will fail in its looping after doing at least 1 loop. If I use the same clips and only loop one of them (eg. loop the fill only 'cause the key doesn't change) then the one channel will loop indefinitely (I have 1 channel that has been looping for the past hour or so). My next experiment will be to set two channels looping with different effects and see how the switcher/EVS likes that.

How are you controlling the Spotbox, through DEV control, or P-BUS? 7.11 should only be a panel and GUI upgrade, as certain hardware cannot be upgraded without modification (this includes the "non-A", early series of 8000). Sony notes that if you choose to install 7.11 for panel and menu only, that you need to be running 5.42 or later on the MVS (SWR1) and MVE (DME1). I'm wondering if something may have happened to your DCU during the upgrade? I remember that our DCU hiccuped during the process, and needed a reset before I could control any devices. MS
