So in ver 7.11 you now have 16 utility prefs to assign things to. Used to be 8. I thought one reason was to put GPI's into macros, which you have to assign to a pref button. In off line macro editing you cannot assign any utility pref button over 8.
Shouldn't I be able to access all 16 there?

Here is some stuff I found poking around today. Page 7324 is where you assign what you want in the prefs 1-16 Offline macro only let you do 1-8 Page 7321.19 allows you to assign any of the 16 prefs to any of the menu panel buttons (GUI) So I guess in this regard you can bury any GPI's into 1-8 and access through macros and then use the higher one's on your menu. I am guessing the offline macro limitation is an oversight

There is a new menu in the ENG / Panel area to custom assign the menu buttons, which is how you do the assignments. As to the off line edit, I haven't tried calling up the Prefs yet. I'll try it when I get back on the panel later this month & I'll let you know. My 1st reaction is that what you're trying to do hasn't been fully implemented yet, but I'll check it out.

Bob how do you access the new 8, when you try to type in or dial in a pref in offline macro menu above 8 it turns red. Unless you assign it to a utlity box, guess that would work, but thought best thing for these new 8 were for GPI's and such, and then use your panel buttons on the GUI for menu's, etc

The new software allows you to map any actual menu to any of the hard buttons. There are more hard buttons than actual menus. So SONY took the idea of the 8 user prefs buttons & extended it so that you can map up to 16 of any of the hard buttons in the same way as you did the original 8.

Weird... I never noticed this. If you go into online mode and actually hit pref button 9-16, does it record that as an event in a macro? Won't be back in front of a switcher until Wednesday so I can't try it.
