Anyone know if/when TGV is going to do something about the feedback delay on the panel with v15? I'm getting tired of hearing ya'all complain about it. I actually had someone ask me to roll the switcher back to v14 a few shows ago?!

Who amongst you has seen this problem?

-Jeff

Robbie, We've pushed the release out a few weeks now, so we're looking at releasing the last week of July.

I haven't heard of an M/E1 panel bug specific to 15.0, and didn't find anything in our bugs list on it. Version 15.1 is due to release in mid-July, so I would wait and upgrade once. Cheers, Rick

Rick, I'e heard that there are problems when using a 1 m/e panel with 15.0.0.1. Is that correct, and should I wait for 15.1?

Version 51.1 is coming! Expect July release. It fixes the shift delay and a number of issues. One thing we've found that helps mitigate the shift delay problem is to drain the NV RAM. It's a pain, but it does help. There are a number of other issues addressed, and some improvements to the new Still Store interface to make it more familiar to pre-version 15.0 users. We'll keep you posted!

My local TDs don't want to roll back as they have shows built. We have started to see other issues pop up as well. Mostly in Multi-suite applications. According to GVG, as of today, they are testing a version of 15.1 right now. Hopefully to be released VERY soon. Bill MTVG 12HDX
Even with the panel lag, I prefer V15. If you do shows with a lot of stills and clips, the improvements in the Still Store are worth it.
The new still store really doesn't do anything the old one had not...sure the still store loader is different, but the only thing they've managed to do with the new V15 still store is make it more menu intensive like their main competitor's product. The function of saving stills requiring two steps, in two still store sub menus is ridiculous (keep/save), and having to go into the file folders to delete stills is just silly. I'm also not a fan of splitting up the Create Edit menu into more sub menus, when their prior versions had a simple way to grab video stills, video/key pairs and record clips. Why was it necessary to change "Show Input" to "Show E-E" was it that important to save two characters? The concept of an image server is a step in the right direction, but their execution of it in the software is awful. Most of the concepts in still store for verion 15 had the right concept, but wrong execution. The still store is still one of the greatest features of this switcher, and many of us have complained for years that the concept is in the right direction, but their execution has lacked. It is frustrating to see that for years we've made suggestions about how to better implement still store features and this version seemingly goes backwards, as they continue to roll out more un-needed features in other areas of development of switcher software (re: knock-off target frame store for TE's). It also seems like something that's made such a drastic change that it will take forever to be corrected.

Pros: new still store menu and I have found saving and loading still clips is faster. You also can can grab a still in RAM, rather then saving them to disk. cons: screwed up panel refresh. Slightly more involved to save or recall still from a laptop or thumb drive.

I've only run into V15 once, I didn't have to much trouble. Although I did have a conversation with an EIC one show and v15 was going to be installed during the next opportunity. What do you really gain with v15?
Lou, the NCP guys say that ESPN wants v15 on the switcher, that's why their HD trucks have it. I think the SD digital trucks still have v14. Game Creek has v15 on Yankee Clipper as well. Jeff, when I see v15 installed I just deal with the delay. After all, you didn't write the code, so why whine to you?
Unfortunately...you'd think with 7 years of the Kalypso being out, folks would know better than to add any .0 version of software.

They came out with a fix May 10, 2007, it's called V 14.0.1 Don't know why any truck would have 15.0, no benefit. I've rolled them all back, I carry both versions to roll them back, then go to V15 if that's how I found it.

I have only been in a truck once since the update and I saw it. I can't imagine this will ever get fixed.
