HI:
I want to know some infomation about the network of switcher.
I plan to build 3 studios with Kahuna recently, following is my idea about the configration of Kahuna:
1, I hope to deploy the network structure of swither to assigh the mainframe and panel;
2, 2 mainframe in the net, No.1 is 3M/E , the other is 2 M/E;
3, M/E and Panel in each studio: Studio 1---> 2M/E, Studio 2--->1M/E,Studio 3--->2M/E;
4, the panel can free assign to any maiframe,for example: Normally,Std1 and Std2 share mainframe 1,Std3 use mainfram2 .Sometimes, Std2 and Std3 share mainframe 1,Std1 use mainfram2.
could you confirm my above idea is ok?
and how to handle the tally between the 2 studios in the same mainframe. Thanks.

Each mainframe can communicate with 6 control panels. If you are going to have 2 mainframes, that means you could use up to 12 control panels. Cheers, -= Ken =-

Hi Schneider : thanks for reply. one more question: in the network, how about the maximum scale of the mainframe and panel? how many panel and mainframe can work together in the network? 2 frames with 6 panels or more?

Hi dhjkx (very odd name), What you are proposing will work. You can network together multiple Kahuna mainframes and control panels. The only limitation is that you cannot acquire M/Es from multiple mainframes. This means that a control panel can acquire multiple M/Es from the same mainframe but it cannot acquire an M/E from frame 1 and another M/E from frame 2 simultaneously. For tallies, you should probably look at serial tally devices. I think that Miranda, Evertz and Image Video are a few companies that make products that you will probably need. Cheers, -= Ken =-
