Ok..First off..We just had a 3.5 M/E Sony MVS-8000g installed at our plant this month. Our first shoot in the new control room is at the end of the month.

I have two problems..that I hope can be fixed but from what I understand it is a limitation of the half M/E software...so maybe you guys have found a workaround.

The 8000 has no preview delegation bus for the preview output...So I thought I would try to hook up the edit preview output and use that as my preset delegation. Turns out that the edit preview always has a timecode burn in on the screen because after going through the editor menus I couldn't get it to turn off..only change what was displayed. On to plan B...I thought I would just assign each M/E preview to a crosspoint and then route them through an aux bus..and attach a macro on th P/P M/E previews that switches that aux bus. Things work great until I get to the P/P preview through the Aux...It won't let me view it, just goes to black. Any thoughts on how to get all four M/E Previews working???

This leads into my other problem...I can't send program out of any aux outputs..I was told by the sony rep that this was a limitation of the half M/E software..but I'm crossing my fingers as to a workaround.

As always..any help is greatly appreciated..

You can get pgm out on an aux-bus, but not on aux 1-4 due to limitations in the half m/e software. At least in our 8000A you can. Martin

You are correct that you cannot get to PGM on an aux bus with the half ME software. You will need to set an output to PGM and loop it back to an input with a cable You'll have a 1 line shift on PGM.... re

The timecode on the Edit Preview bus can certainly be turned off via the editor keyboard (look for the button with 'super' written on it). If you don't have the PIE keyboard then I don't know how you might do it. As for routing P/P previews via an aux bus - are you sure you don't have key3 or key 4 selected as next transition? I certainly got caught by the fact there is no Key3/4 on half an ME.
