Hi there -
I'm trying to build a transition effect on the p/p bus and I am changing dsk 3 as part of the effect.
My problem is dsk 4, where we keep our bug. I want the on/off status of this key to not change when I run the effect.
XPT hold in the path menu just keeps the source from changing. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Have you tried building the transition as a macro? That way, the dsk4 status is not recorded.

Can try this change path to off for the entire ME (P/P). Then turn the rest of them on that you need to change.
Thanks for the help - I believe my switcher is faulty. My region assign panel is all jacked up, too.
You might want to try a panel and/or mainframe reset. If the system is "confused", this procedure often solves the problem.

i had a similar problem a week ago. i turned the path off on my A and B bus but it was changing anyway. it sounds like it's a glitch with the switcher. if you run your xpt hold mode as "key disable w/ status", you can put a xpt hold on the keyer in the effect menu and it will ignore the keyer completely. you can do this by going to the eng setup menu---switcher---key/wipe/fm tab. you can set this on an m/e by m/e basis. just be careful because i'm not sure what other effects you have. obviously, if you change the xpt hold mode, you could be changing the desired outcome of all your effects in that particular m/e. -allan

Thanks for the help - It's not doing the trick - My problem is with the key being on or off. I don't want that status to change during an effect. Am I doing something wrong?
