I just got a GVG-1600 up and running reasonably well for the high school video program I teach. A huge "Thank you" to this forum!

Now comes the GVG-200 :-)
I just started looking at this one in earnest and the most obvious initial problem is that the main power cable for the control panel is missing. Clearly this is not a "normal" a/c plug. Rather it is the odd-looking multi-pin variety. I have no documentation for it, but clearly it does not connect to the frame for power as does the 1600. Thus I'm dead in the water right now. I'm hoping someone can at least point me to the right direction on this one. Thanks so much. (I can email a pic of what I'm talking about if needed)
Thanks again; happy holidays!

So sorry for not responding sooner. I actually had given up hope on getting this beautiful beast running. Given the state of California's budget, a total freeze on all expenditures is now in place at the high school where I teach the video/TV/Multimedia program and this switcher was to be used. So unless someone has an old "pod" they are looking to jettison, I'm stuck. Of course I could always go the Heathkit route. lol

My good friend, Matt Walter, is a broker who might have or can find you the PSU. http://www.discoveryresources.com. I also have a few contacts inside GVG if you still need help, let me know, I'll pass along your inquiry. Good luck, -John

I have the last two sections of the manual in PDF form if it helps (maintanance and allignment) It was a pet project for a while but after scanning the 300th page it got beyond tedious and we ripped them out anyhow. Email me if you need them.

Again, using damaged and retired brain cells here... As I recall the 200 control panel used an external power supply, so if you don't have that and the appropriate cable you may be dead in the water. Also the switcher used a "POD" (a small handheld little box) to do all the programing and adjustments. Again, if you don't have that you won't be able to do very much. Effective Engineering is GVG's company that they're using to support the older products. . They do have some helpful info on their website. Good luck! -Jeff
