Does anyone know how to operate the DVEous in Quad Twin mode. Can you take two different outputs from the DVEous and make two different sources from that device?

IE. Could I build Clocks / Cam 1 and my backup bug from the same device and only tie up zero keyers on the switcher?

Please advise if you have experience with this.

Thanks kindly.

Todd

Was on Lyon 6 at the time. Have been advised that there is not enough bandwidth to make this function work. Thanks all! TA

[quote="Mike Cumbo"]Bill, let's not forget the DVEous HD. A bit of a mutt, part traditional DVEous, with HD hardware and a little MX. Few times I have seen an MX I have only had to make basic effects and that has been limited. good info

Bill, let's not forget the DVEous HD. A bit of a mutt, part traditional DVEous, with HD hardware and a little MX. (NCP 4 or 5, maybe both, have one) The menu described above is on one of the HD boxes, I forget which right now. I have tried using that menu before, but having forgotten how to enable the other channels, it was a waste of time. On the MX you can select what signals are fed to each output. 1A/B V to output 1, !A/B K to output 2, 1A/B, 2 A/B Comb to output 3, etc.. I think there are six output choices. Most trucks that have an MX have all six outputs wired. The GOOD trucks are wired like this. tandrews, what truck? Back to the original question, you should be able to do what you want as long configure each output correctly and the right output goes to the right switcher input.I think I did something like this last year.

Is this a MX or a SD version. Sounds like a Brutus, not sure what they did for the MX version, I think it was different. But in the SD version in order to access and modify, run, etc the other frame you had to hold down a button (forget which one) and then you selected which chasis you wanted to be on. Build your stuff, etc Then go back and forth with that menu selection.

In the engineering setup there is a knob called Quad Twin. It then turns on a 3a-b & 4a-b menu. The EIC on this truck has all 8 channels wired but has never seen them all in use. I cannot even access those channels to create and/or modify them. Todd

Little confused by what you are looking to do or with what hardware. There is a Dual twin, which is basically 4 channels. Not sure what a Quad twin is, unless it is a Brutus (2 frames of DVEous). Each twin can be video/video mode or video/key mode. The regular dual twin has a combiner output (combiner menu determines what pair of channels you see or to see both of them). There are also optional output cards which allow you to see each pair seperately (1 card for each twin). Any kind of key would burn a twin channel (2 channels). If you can crop clock over camera and use video/video mode, you could use a twin to generate clock over cam, use a seperate output (if it has it) and then have the other twin left over for whatever else. Could also use the bgd feature in the eng menu to key over a bgd internally through combiner output.
