ftp access

I am having trouble connecting to a GveousMX. I can ping the machine and it responds but I can't connect via FTP. Can anyone provide any insight on this? I have not used this feature before and would like to start.

I found a bug. Basically if I try to connect to the machine once without specifying the /ram or /hard directory. It kicks me out and won't let me back in until after a reboot. You have to call up the /ram or /hard directory on first login. Do not try to go to the top level directory. There is none.
