Has anyone tried to run either the Kalypso "Menu on PC" or Kayak "Side Panel" from a netbook? If so, which netbook did you use and how did it work?

I am looking for an excuse to purchase.

Thanks.

Last week I had the chance to use both a 8.9" and 11.6" Acer Aspire One netbook. Both handled Menu On PC and Image Server well. The GUI image of the Menu On PC was slightly too large for the 8.9" model. Even with the Window's Task Bar set to 'Auto-hide', a portion of the soft buttons at the bottom of the screen were obscured. It was still possible to click the buttons, so this would only be an issue for someone who isn't familiar with the functions. The small footprint of the netbooks was a great asset. I was working on a truck with no space for a laptop and was able to park the netbook on part of ME1.

Seth, in the old days I used a laptop with 256MB off RAM and a P III processor. The netbooks are faster and have more RAM. I can't see them having an issue. Are you thinking of getting one with XP or Vista? I don't know how Vista would handle the relatively small amount of RAM, but XP should be OK. Take a look at the screen. My eyes did not like the 8.9" display on the Acer and the store I was at only had a dummy model of the 10" Acer. I am considering buying the new 13" Macbook Pro and running both OS X and Vista.
