I have built a macro with a 0 pause to get the "take" command. I attached my macro to a shotbox button, but how do I get the macro to continue a la "take"?

It would be really nice if sony could provide a Macro cancel or release function for when you have locked your self up with a take button. The status button to the left of take on the flexi pads would be the perfect place to put it.

You could also put it on the "key 2/4 utility" buttons if your utility box is not close to you, but that might turn into a left-hand operation... say where the key 2 black button or shift button is - maybe no better a solution. When the version came out that enabled this feature, I moved all my GPI buttons from the utility box to bank 5 of the key 2/4 utility buttons. That let me reclaim a bunch of buttons on my utility box that I never touched. Many shops have their utility boxes placed on the backsplash next to the router. We have ours at the bottom right of the panel, and I personally have a "macro take" button on the 24th button - the very bottom right-hand corner. We also have an M/E4 flexi-pad and some of our TD's use the take button there instead. We had to order a certain size blank panel to make the utility box move from the backsplash down to the M/E4 row - it filled a spot on the backsplash because our preview/fade to black panel moved to the backsplash. We never use FTB and keep our preview set on Auto/PP anyway.

Sounds like you want to make the 'Take' function also sit on a keyer button or some other button on the switcher. To do that it would have to be part of a macro, which I do not think is possible. Also once that macro is in zero pause you are stuck, you cannot hit another macro anyway, just take. So I think it is the utility box or flexi pad for you.

Not really. The macro goes like this call up pbus#71 pause 5 turn on key 4 pause 0 = "take" run pbus effect I put the macro on a key button which does call it up, but that "take" is still sitting on the macro 10 keypad area. It's fine I was just wondering if I could put that "take"(the 0 pause) on a button, but I could just split the macro into 2 parts as a work around. Thanks

You can attach the Macro Take command to a Utility Module (sometimes refered to as a Shotbox) button. It's Utility Command #76.

For example: Event 1 MEXpt PP key 4 Video Event 2 Key Auto Tran PP key 4 20 to on Event 3 Pause 19 Event 4 ME Cut PP Event 5 Pause 2 Event 4 Key Auto Tran PP key 4 23 to off Does that help? Matt
