I have found my self working a dual on 10HDX this Friday.  Just found out there is a Kayenne on this truck and I've not used one.  I'm use to Kalypso and Kayak operation with clip store or Fast Forward.  I've also not used a spot box.  Can any one help me with suggestions on how to get through this one.  On MTVG's web site they say that the spot box is lance controlled.  Do the tape guys take care of the x-file load and once it's up is it P-Bus control like a Clip Store?  If I down load the Kayenne menu can I pre set suite prefs and maybe even cross points if I can get an input list from the engineers? and then load it up on the 1 ME dual panel? Thanks in advance Greg

I worked this truck last week on a dual and everything went smoothly.  FYI the dual panel is 1.5ME and has twenty-five cross points.   The half M/E is used for P/P, so no iDPM or keyer frame memory is avail for theses keyers. <p>I downloaded the menu software and pre built my show without any major problems.  I did find a bug in the system if you are trying to create complex clean feeds where the A/B buses are linked to the U1/U2 buses.  When you have the primary and secondary ganged together in the transition module, the utility side will do the transition (dissolve), but at the completion with take back to the original source.  And, this make your utility bus out of sync with you master bus.

I walked into a Kayenne a few Saturday's back and the game went fine. See if the client/crewer will allow an extra hour for you to get familiar with the menus. I forget how the baby panel is laid out, but you can in fact control 4 1/2ME’s from it. One thing to note, you have a 2nd and 3rd button like a Kayak but if you hit both of those buttons at the same time, you get a fourth level of crosspoints. To add a level to a master EMEM you do not do a LEARN MOD, like we are used to. You do a LEARN AUTO RECALL. I believe timeline editing is using soft buttons on the panel. There may be a button labeled EMEM EDIT. TE’s are called iDPM now. I think you get two. There are six keyers, but keys 5/6 can’t use iDMP’s or do drop shadows. Many Spotboxes are set up with no input channels, so a regular EVS or RO would have to record and clip things and then send them, via network, to you. Controlling a Spotbox via Lance is ALMOST like using a FF or ClipStore. If you don’t have the latest Lance manual, get it. There are a few buttons that you generally do not use with a FF but you use with a Spotbox. They are the CLIP LIST and CUR buttons. Once your Spotbox is loaded, you can select channel 1 on the TDC-100 and hit CLIP LIST. Scroll through the available clips. When you get to the one you want, hit CUR and it will load the clip. Do the same with channel 2. Mark your ins and outs. Additionally, read up in the manual about INTERNAL and EXTERNAL CLP LIST MODE, menu option #5 and menu option #6, CLIP FILTER. Sorry for the formatting but I used WORD to compose this and then tried to copy and paste it. This forum software didn't like it.

Thanks Mike, I'm on my way to grab the latest lance manual right now.  I checked out Ed Collins Webinar on GV's web site.  They really did a nice job putting it together. I hope that Grass does more interactive stuff like that.  I'm debating using the split ME to run a two boxes or maybe a even just a simple split and the new T-bar to get to them. Should be fun having more resources to pull from on a dual than I'm use to with 12 cross points and setting up effects in preview. Happy PunchingGreg
