Miss the old | Editsuite.com

Hello Editsuite.com friends,

Due to tons of abuse, we now require that you request user access by sending us your Login, Name, Email Address, Phone Number, and Profession by submitting that info HERE.  I'll review your request and try to get back to you within the week.  You can't imagine how many folk want to trash forums with bogas advertising.

Also, please help us gain enough Facebook "Likes" to have a custom Facebook URL!

I really kinda miss the old forum setup. I like being able to see what has been recently added. this new setup seems more confusing. maybe its just me.

I wish the digest email would show me all the new messages instead of only the original message. If there is a new message in a forum every day, then every day I get an email with the same original message. I like the old way better so I can see at least a partial of the new messages and decide if i need to go to Editsuite to check out the thread.  Now I have no choice because I HAVE to go to Editsuite to see any new messages. Also, when I receive the digest email, the "From" field say Editsiute.com instead of Editsuite.com. The last thing is that no matter how I format a Classified post with indentation and extra lines, it posts as one long block of text.  As a matter of fact, it also happened to this post even though it previewed fine. Just a few things I've notice with the new site. Cheers,-= Ken =-

Hi Kurt, Thanks for the input.  I know it's not the same, I have added the Recent Forum Posts to help with the "what's new" problem (http://editsuite.com/?q=recent_posts). Plus the main forum page (http://editsuite.com/?q=forum) should tell you about what's new/updated. If I find the time, I'll poke around and see what else I can come up with to make it better. Thanks again for the input.

John Can I start by saying how useful I have found editsuite.com, however I have noticed that since the new layout has been introduced there has been a marked drop in traffic on the forum. I for one found the old set up easier to navigate around and a lot easier to see when there was a new posting. I appreciate it is very easy for anyone to criticize which is why I hope you view this comment in a constructive way as editsuite.com has and still is the best site around for tips on vision mixers, which is why I am always recommending it to people. Regards Mandy

Hi Mandy,

No worries, I understand your points. I knew it would be different and would take some getting used to both on our end and everyone who posts. My goal is certainly to make it at least not harder :-) for everyone to share.

Gary and I will put our heads together to find a way to make it easier.

If nothing else, at least we can probably take down the new Welcome! page and just have the recent posts appear there.

Hey, what do you think of offering the ability to blog right here on the site? Anything else??

Thanks for your kind words and support.

You know, sometimes the little things are easy and the big ones are not, and then it's the other way around.  Search-wise, I spent many hours trying to make the built-in search in Drupal work and never could.  This new search module is a godsend.  Sorry it took me so long. The rest of the changes, no problem.  Please let us know of any ideas you have for alterations.  This new platform does make many, many parts of the puzzle of a website easier. Thanks for your support and patience.
