Are there any trucks out there that are doing dual feeds on Kayenne yet? Has anyone here done one, or know anything about it? How similar is the dual-side panel to the Kalypso dual panel? Do you set up your shows pretty much the same way? More keyers? Maybe an extra ME? I'm curious to know how it's being done, or how it will be done!

Yup. MTVG's 25HDX plus a few more. Much better than the Kalypso. More real estate. More keyers. More powerful.   One ME (ME1) plus a Program ME (ME4?). Each has six keyers but PGM only has linear - no IDPM, mask or borderline BUT you can matte fill a telestrator by sourcing BKG to the tele key in Source Ops menu. Still good for Duet, bug, Spotbox, Clipstore, etc. Macros are more powerful - they can remember the state of a keyer (on or off) if you use the cut button. Dsslve key is toggle.   Show setup is similar. I do transitions on the PGM bus with macros and PBUS commands only. EMEMS (ME4 - seperate keypad from Master EMEM) to cut cameras. The full ME for splits, 2boxes (2 IDPMs) etc. Other TD's do it different.   Granularity is GREAT.  Lets you assign various parts of ME's (keyers, etc.) to ignore timelines. You want a key on? It stays on - until you turn it off. Then it's off (Tele!). This is from the Kayak architecture.   Keyers have 2(!) framestores each, assignable by EMEM or use live.  Very handy.   One other very handy feature... When you have keyers in and you double-punch BKG in the transition panel, all active keyers become highlighted to transition off.   Also... No more LEARN MOD. It's now LEARN Auto Recall.   Insist on getting at least an hour or so extra the first time. You will probably need it. I also recommend downloading the software and frame sim so you can familiarize yourself with the menu. It's got the Kalypso logic, but it IS different. You'll see.   The board also has some quirks that Grass Valley knows about and is addressing. It's only v1.53 but it's much more complete than when the Kalypso first arrived. Talk to your EIC 'cause they probably know what's going on with their board.   Paul

For the most part, I agree with Paul.  I do not like that the macros remember the state of the keyer when using the cut button.  Also, if you do not use the granularity with the telestrator key, you can not source patch linear black to it, because it remembers the state.  You can however put a source hold on it and make a macro to take linear black.  All in all though it is very Kalypso-ish.  There are some differences but, like Paul said, get about an hour or two of time before the call and you should be fine.

if you want the macro to not remember the state of the cut key(old school toggle on if already off or off if already on) during the macro record double punch the cut key then it behaves the old way.  Cheers
