I'm sure this has been asked many times but for some reason the site's search function isn't working at the moment. I'm on a Sony 8000 with Multi-PGM and trying to find the override that allows me to key an ME output on top of itself. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Try page 7331, and look for a button that says "MP2 Free Re-Entry" ... I believe that it was added after v7.2, but it's for Multi-PGM 2.

Not sure if that was an option with Multi-PGM mode, though.  You might need to loop an output back into a XPT to achieve the same outcome if you are on an older model or software release of the 8000.

Hope that helps.

Yup, that explains it, I don't have MP2 on this Sony.  I've been spoiled by having the good 8000 in the past, I guess.

Can I loop an output back into the switcher myself right from the menus?  I'm about to try it, but if you read this soon let me know if I'm wasting my time.

No - only MPII can be re-entered via the menus. I would suggest that rather than looping back an M/E output that you instead loop back the output of an AUX bus. This gives you more flexibility to loop-back what you want than a hard output, and either way it's going to be 1-line out of time.

Depends if you have additional Aux panels I had someone over patch my left hand box when I was looping back by an Aux. Decided that outputting an ME was safer because I had more control, usually Utl 2. Your mile may vary.
