Hi guys,

Been a while since I've been on the forum.  After 10 years of working prdominantly with Sony switchers I am now trying to get my head around the Kayenne.

So can anyone tell me if it's possible to learn an emem to a region without blowing away the existing name that exists on the emem.

For example, I have an existing emem on ME 1 named "boxes". I now want to include a clip from the clipstore in that emem so I set up the clip I want and learn it into the same number but when I do I lose the name "boxes" from the original emem.  This is not a huge issue for 1 emem but it becomes a pain if I have 10 emems that I need to add the clipstore to?

Cheers

Brian

How do you name your Emem on a Karrera? Found it

Thanks,

Toby

Hi Brian,

The rule is that if you learn a new EMEM it replaces all keyframes and more importantly the name in header. What you need to do is learn a level of EMEM for your clipstore this is what you could do.

1. Switch off Auto Recall for your chosen EMEM. This prevents the header learning which parts of EMEM are going to be learned.

2. Record an EMEM on the same number ONLY for your Clipstore

3. Switch Auto Recall on again and recall the EMEM - this will of course only have the original levels

4. Enable the Clipstore level you just made

5. Press Learn then Auto Recall.

Now you have added the Clipstore to an existing EMEM and can add more keyframes for it - like PLAY or whatever.

If you already had a Clipstore level you should load your new clip and MOD the first keyframe. Modifiying does not replace the whole timeline and keeps the name.

Cheers,

John

Thanks John for clarifying that method.  However, if I'm not mistaken, even with Auto Recall disabled, as soon as I learn the eMEM for the clipstore region only, I still blow away the name that exists on that eMEM for all other regions?

Perhaps I'm being a bit too OCD about my naming of eMEMS but it's just a housekeeping thing that I like to keep on top of.  It makes it easier for other users to follow what eMEMs actually do, instead of just numbers appearing everytime an eMEM is recalled.

Cheers

Brian
